Question: How much of my expenses should go to labor?

Answer: This is an interesting question.  With about 100 accounts, who are properly billed, figure that about 60% of your revenue will go for labor.  As you grow beyond 100 accounts, that percentage will decrease.  When you have less than 100 accounts, your labor costs will be based on scheduling one person to work around the clock (168 hours a week).  Even at a low wage, with few benefits, this projects to be a monthly payroll of over $7,000.
